The SuperFast Thermapen thermometerincorporates a large digital display with a precise read-out oftemperature over the range of -49.9 to 299.9 °C with a 0.1 °Cresolution and an accuracy of ±0.4 °C. The resolution can beswitched to 1 °C, if required, via a switch in the batterycompartment. The thermometer will power off automatically after tenminutes, maximising battery life. This feature can be disabled ifnot required.
The casing is washable and includes''Biomaster'' additive that reduces bacterial growth and theergonomic rubber seal minimises the risk of the ingress of water,dust or food. As well as being water resistant, it is still''probably'' the fastest reading contact thermometer on the markettoday. The true temperature of a product can be tested in underfour seconds.
Both low battery (icon) and opencircuit indication are displayed, when applicable. Each Thermapenis powered by two lithium coin cell batteries with a minimum lifeexpectancy of 1500 hours.
reduced tip, foldawayprobe
The SuperFast Thermapen thermometer incorporates a reduced tip,stainless steel, food penetration probe that conveniently foldsback through 180 degrees into the side of the instrument when notin use.
The response time of any thermometeris dependant on many factors, the mass of the sensing tip, heattransfer and, most importantly, the state of the substance beingmeasured. With both air and liquid, agitation is crucial to rapidresponse. The ETI calibration laboratory has tested the Thermapenin a stirred water bath with amazing results - the SuperFastthermometer reached 100% of the test temperature in under fourseconds.
